VIEWINGS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY PLEASE.
WE DON’T WANT TO DISAPPOINT YOU, SO PLEASE DON’T JUST TURN UP ON THE OFF-CHANCE. THANK YOU.
We’re a community centre and charity run by volunteers – not a commercial operation with full-time staff. We have one part-time administrator who works flexibly within normal office hours, but not every day – and not evenings and weekends. Please contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
We’ll always do our best to respond to your enquiry within 48 hours – but please don’t expect an immediate response.
We’re happy to arrange viewings of our facilities, but the Centre is busy with existing lettings 7 days a week – meaning limited opportunities for showing people around without disturbing other users’ classes and activities. However, appointments to view can generally be arranged first thing in the morning (before 9am) or between 2pm and 3pm Mondays, and 12.30 – 2pm Thursdays. Please email us to set up an appointment. Thank you.
We’re a charity that runs the Centre on a not-for-profit basis, for the benefit of the community. Each year we need to generate enough income from hire charges to meet all our running costs. And to continue to invest in the upkeep and improvement of the building and facilities.
We don’t have a standard price list because there are many different spaces for hire at the Centre, and depending which (or which combination) you need for your activity and event, and when this is, the price we ask you pay will vary. For instance, we charge a lower rate for community groups than for businesses running profit-making classes from the Centre. We charge a lower rate for regular user groups than we do for one-off lettings. We charge less at off-peak times when we need to fill space, than we do at peak times when we have a lot of demand for space. There are so many variables, it’s difficult to publish a set price list.
Indicatively however, for private weekend hire of the Centre’s main hall for parties and events (which includes use of the kitchen and stage), we charge £33 per hour, with a minimum hire period of 4 hours – so £132 (this is in line with other public halls in the area – but which lack facilities such as our large private car park and large stage).
Other rooms at the Centre, and at other times, are cheaper to hire. But whichever space you’d like to hire, we promise we’ll offer you a fair and competitive price. So please fill in our enquiry form or email us at email@example.com
All event bookings should be made a minimum of FOUR WEEKS in advance. Because that’s how long it usually takes to sort out paperwork, deposits and payments, handover of keys, any necessary insurances, etc. We’re genuinely sorry, but if you contact us wanting to hire one of our halls or rooms at less than four weeks notice, we may have to disappoint you.
We want the Centre to be available to all sections of the community. Unfortunately, we’ve had several instances of vandalism, theft and disturbance during teenage party bookings. We therefore don’t accept bookings for unsupervised parties for young people aged 13 – 21 (we have a minimum age of 25 for hiring the Centre in any case, so bookings must be made by a responsible adult).
For teenage party bookings we will ask to meet the responsible adult at the time of booking to verify adequate supervision and security arrangements will be in place. We’ll also ask for a minimum deposit of £300 against possible damage or extra cleaning requirements.
If we have any reason to believe a teenage party may be inadequately supervised, we reserve the right to decline a booking application without explanation.
